Cricket Legacy: Likewise father & son

Stuart Binny

Stuart Binny is the son of Roger Binny (left), who was part of the World Cup winning team of 1983. Roger was known for his all-round ability and seems to have passed on the genes to his son Stuart, who finds a place as an all-rounder in Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2013. Stuart has shown sparkles of brilliance with bat and ball in this season of IPL but has to do more to prove his pedigree.

Mohinder Amarnath
Mohinder Amarnath (right), man of the series during India’s victorious WC campaign in 1983, has a rich history of family members serving Indian cricket. His father Lala Amarnath (Right) was the first captain of India post-Independence and the first Indian cricketer to score a Test century. His brother Surinder Amarnath was a Test player. His brother Rajinder Amarnath was a former first class cricketer.

Anirudha Srikkanth

Son of Krishnamachari Srikkanth, Anirudha (right) plays for Chennai Super Kings. Since CSK has a well-settled batting line-up, Anirudha hasn't got the chances to cement his place. He has opened for CSK a few times though. He has done reasonably well in the domestic circuit. He topped the run charts for India Under-19s against the touring England U-19s in 2004-05.

Mohinder Amarnath
Mohinder Amarnath played 69 Tests for India scoring 4,378 runs and claimed 32 wickets. In 85 ODIs, he scored 1,924 runs and bagged 46 wickets at 42.84 apiece. Mohinder is the only international cricketer in the world to be given out both for handling the ball and obstructing the field in his career.

Shaun Marsh
Shaun Marsh (right), who plays for Kings XI Punjab in IPL, is the son of Geoffrey Marsh, a former Australian cricketer, coach and selector. Geoff played 50 Test matches and over 100 One Day Internationals for Australia as an opening batsman. Shaun's brother Mitchell Marsh plays for Pune Warriors.
